My Training & Experience
Master of Arts (Counselling Psychology), UBC
MA (Theology and the Arts), Regent College
Basic Training Diploma in Existential Analysis, International Society for Logotherapy and Existential Analysis
I have a Master of the Arts in Counselling Psychology from UBC and completed a thesis about the use of metaphor in counselling sessions. I also have a Masters in Theology and the Arts from Regent College and a BA in Communication Studies from the University of Calgary.
I have done additional counselling training in approaches such as Morita Therapy and Therapeutic Enactment. I am also in the process of completing a full diploma in Existential Analysis, a particular theory of existential psychotherapy. Existential Analysis aims to help find a way of living that enables us to give inner consent to our actions. The approach defines leading a meaningful life as doing what one senses and recognizes as being valuable.
In the past, I have worked as a counsellor at a university counselling centre. I have also run day treatment groups for people in recovery from addiction and have done individual counselling for people with addiction concerns.
